General Information
Roadable aircraft are defined as an aircraft capable of taking off and landing from a suitable airfield and is also designed to be driven on a highway as a conveyance. Aircraft that can be driven on public roads will be required to be titled and registered. Customers must show proof of registration with UDOT’s Division of Aeronautics prior to title and registration.
Requirements for Titling
- Title or Certificate of Origin
- Form TC-656, Utah Title Application
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspections, if being titled in Utah for the first time. See Form TC-661, Certificate of Inspection. (New vehicles sold by a Utah dealer are exempt)
- Proof of registration with UDOT’s Division of Aeronautics
Requirements for Registration
- A roadable aircraft is subject to a safety inspection when the owner makes the initial application to register the roadable aircraft
- Payment of applicable fees as set by statute
