Vehicles less than two years old, based upon the model year, are exempt from the requirement to obtain an emissions inspection. Emissions for gas powered vehicles are due in Davis, Salt Lake, and Weber counties. Emissions for diesel powered vehicles are due in Davis and Salt Lake counties. Diesel Emission for 1997 and older model vehicles with a GVWR of 14,000 lbs and less are not required in Salt Lake County. Emission certificate must be original, dated within the previous 11 months, and surrendered at the time of application.
